Main report courtesy of BAR.

the COD C-1A 146044 "Salt One" was temporarily shore-based at RNAS Lee0on-Solent.This was only a short cruise in order to take part in the NATO autumn exercises, which may explain the lack of EA-6B's on board. The carrier was open to visitors on 25/27/29.9 and the following were noted below deck: (25.9) codes 010/303/405/504/520/521/704/712 in the forward section of the hanger, 223/311/506/705/734 cordoned off by flags for static display to VIP's in the centre section of the hanger, and 105/400/724 in the rear section; (27.9) the flags had been removed and the hanger contained codes 010/105/107/206/303/311/400/405/504/506/520/521/700/704/705/712/724/734; (29.9) the Navy spent all day re-spotting aircraft in preparation for departure, virtually all of those aircraft on the hanger deck being moved up and others moved down. visiting the carrier on the afternoon of 25.9 were 781 Sqdn Wessex HU.5 XT772 and Lee SAR Flt Wessex HU.5 XS496/ 'LS/813'.
