|The visit to Portsmouth was originally to have been until 1.10, after which she was to sail to Puerto Rico for an exercise then home to Norfolk. However, the visit was curtailed at the weekend when she received orders to sail to the Med to relieve the "Forrestal" which had suffered a serious accident. VA-46 lost an A-7E early 9/82. The EA-6's had the AJ codes repainted including "Nimitz" titles|
